Rain

Softly it comes
d
o
w
n

as it bathes the world
tickling my skin

silent

just me and the rain
my hair damp
the soft, green grass has tears

my feet sing as the
medley
falls to earth

leaves act as rain catchers

my eyes glisten with hope
as the rain comes
d
o
w
n

Snakes
tongues flicking
rattleless
stubby tailed
snake

twisting turning
my stomach churning
I’m statue still

hissing scaring
venomous
snakes

at my feet
my heart misses a beat
their triangular heads
holding teeth that
can puncture
my
cold
clammy
skin
